I'm Alex Wallace, founder and dog behaviourist at The Dogs by Alex. I’m based in south London and specialise in transforming reactive dogs and their guardians.
In-person dog training
Frustrated with a lack of progress with your dog’s behaviour? I’d love to help. My 1-2-1 training courses are bespoke to each dog and owner, prioritising:
Turning negative habits into positive behaviours.
Removing anxiety for both you and your dog when you’re out and about.
Forming a bond with your dog that you didn’t think possible.
Feeling overwhelmed with what to do next to improve your dog’s behaviour? My training sessions and packages are:
Geared towards developing a happy bond between you and your dog - one that’s less stressful and that forms an ongoing positive relationship. It’s a special thing when you and your dog are in sync together.
Structured to set you and your dog up for success, achieving goals following a clear week-by-week plan.
Always carried out 1-2-1 and always in person, avoiding generalisations and a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. You have to see and feel behavioural changes - it’s can’t be done by trying to translate your research just from books and seminars.

I want to see both you as a guardian and your dog thrive - to see you overcome challenges that have been affecting your lives in a negative way. My mission is to see a better world where people and dogs understand each other fully.
I love the intricacies of dog training and behaviour, feeling how a dog responds in a positive way. It stems from years of experience working with rescue dogs - nothing can replace hands-on experience and in-person expertise.
Lastly, your dog is my first priority. My in-person sessions are focused on your dog and you, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Tailored and clear learning experiences.

Anyone who is struggling with their dog’s behaviour, particularly with reactivity.
Anyone who’s willing to invest their time and effort into their dog’s training, with consistency and dedication. Dog training takes time, and we will only see results if you’re up for putting the work in.
-
The assessment is essential for me to understand where the challenges lie. This is crucial to create the program and dog training sessions that work for you and your dog - it’s not something we should enter with guesswork and our own reactivity.
Each training session is bespoke to you and your dog - dog training cannot be done with a ‘one-size'-fits-all’ approach.
-
That totally depends on you and your dog and what challenges we’re working on. What a dog dog trainer should never say is that there’s a ‘quick fix’ - that’s a false promise.
Of course some challenges are easier to overcome than others. But it’s essential that your program is bespoke and that includes the length of time that you might need.
-
Simple answer - absolutely not. My oldest dog is 12 years old and we learn things from each other to this day. No dog is too old to learn new things.
-
No. You’ve got this.
-
The short answer is ‘no’. There are training methods that allow me to work with bigger dogs, and it’s all about intention and having a solid plan in place that allows each dog to succeed, no-matter their size.
